We have a commitment with the care and ecological wellbeing of our country and community. Corporación Moctezuma makes significant investments in equipment and processes for controlling emissions and achieve important efficiencies regarding energy consumption. We have adopted as an initiative the responsibility of maintaining the highest standards and official certifications in this aspect.
Cementos Moctezuma is accredited as a Quality Control Laboratory by the Mexican Accreditation Entity (EMA) in accordance with Official Mexican Norm NMX-EC-17025-IMNC-vigente. Since September 20, 2002, we are able to ensure that all our tests and investigation methods are compliant and validated.

Our Tepetzingo plant obtained the Certification issued by the National Organism of Standardization and Certification of Constructions and Buildings (ONNCCE) for its Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), class 30R/RS and 40/RS and Puzolanic Portland Cement (PPC), class 30R/RS/BRA products in accordance with Official Mexican Norm NMX-C-414-ONNCCE-vigente

Special recognition issued by the Federal Electricity Commission.

Cementos Moctezuma has been awarded the special recognition issued by the Federal Electricity Commission for its Tepetzingo Plant as the most efficient in the field in terms of energy consumption and saving.

 

 

 

 


INTEGRATED SYSTEM (SICMAS RS)
Cementos Moctezuma currently has an Integrated System called SICMAS with RS which consists of Quality, Environmental, Safety and Health in the Workplace and Social Responsibility management standards based on the following norms: ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:1999 and NMX-SAST-004-IMNC:2004, respectively. This system is double certified by the following certification organisms: AENOR (Spanish Standardization and Certification Association) and IMNC (Mexican Standardization and Certification Institute).

Clean Industry
Cementos Moctezuma, acting in favor of the environment, volunteered to take part in the Environmental Audit program carried out by PROFEPA (Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection) in July 2001 in order to obtain the Clean Industry Certificate thanks to the joint effort and work of all its personnel. On July 30, 2002, PROFEPA granted Cementos Moctezuma the Clean Industry Certificate, an award issued to companies demonstrating environmental culture and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Environmental Excellence
In July 2004, Cementos Moctezuma S.A. de C.V. received the environmental excellence certificate, an award granted by Mexican government to industries that have achieved outstanding and innovative performance regarding the care and improvement of the environment.

Cementos Moctezuma achieved this certification for its constant improvement and clear indicators of its environmental performance through a comprehensive process involving quality, environmental and safety with social responsibility.

We operate three of five basic programs in this field:

Educational Excellence
Providing directors and teachers with basic skills and competencies; increasing the level of education provided; having trained teachers to transmit the knowledge they have acquired to their peers.

Youth Journeys
Providing educational and union action programs to give young members of local communities the chance to learn about themselves, their surroundings and society.

The Three T Team
Establishing a sense of belonging towards the company among children and young persons in local communities with the involvement of their families; offering children and young persons alternatives for the use of free time; detecting and promoting the potential of people for professional development in sports.

Health Fairs
Promoting the image of a company active in the promotion of health in the community; maintaining a relationship of cooperation with federal, municipal and community authorities involved in health matters.
