Latinoamericana de Concretos, better known as LACOSA, was founded on April 11, 1977, and started operation on January 1, 1978. A group of Mexican businessmen decided to start this project in response to one of the basic needs of the construction field: the supply of premixed concrete from plants located in Mexico City.

LACOSA began as an innovative company in the field of concrete supply by offering 10m3 mixing units with integrated pumping service, an innovation that has always identified us as a company offering service, quality and technology.

In order to make use of the synergies that already existed between the two companies, in 1982 Latinoamericana de Concretos took over Cementos Moctezuma, creating the company now known as Corporación Moctezuma, the most modern cement company in Mexico. Corporación Moctezuma is owned by the Italian cement company Buzzi and the Spanish firm Cementos Molins, both of which have equal shares in the company. Cement and concrete companies are managed independently and share the mission of maintaining market leadership.

In 1994 Grupo Carso became a partner of Corporación Moctezuma, consolidating the company's expansion.

The development of our company is a result of experiences and techniques used to improve the service which has helped us earn the trust of our clients throughout the 29 years we have been in service.

LACOSA has produced certified quality premixed concrete since September 2000 when we were awarded with Quality Assurance Standard ISO 9002, making us the first company to receive this certification for all its plants located in the Mexico City metropolitan area.
Thanks to the work of our human resources and within the context of constant improvement, on June 25, 2001, we carried out the transformation from the ISO 9002 certificate to ISO 9001:2000, while on March 13, 2006, we also included our Toluca plants in this system. At this moment and in order to meet the needs of more clients, we are working on implementing this system in our plants located in other parts of Mexico.

In July 2003, thanks to the coordination capacity of our personnel, our stationary and mobile high-pressure strategically-installed plants and our modern fleet of mixing units and pumping equipment, we reached a record production of 100,000 m3, the highest level ever in the history of LACOSA, and closed that year with a million cubic meters sold.

With all the resources we have at our disposition, LACOSA's history has always been evolutionary. The current year has been more than satisfactory, including in the growth process the changes needed, that will enable us to meet our objectives. These goals that are more and more ambitious, and are always designed to maintain us as the leading group in our field, meeting the internal and external requirements of our organization. For this reason and in order to take advantage of our synergies with the famous MOCTEZUMA brand, this year we created CONCRETOS MOCTEZUMA, which will serve the Western and Southeastern regions of our country.

LACOSA and CONCRETOS MOCTEZUMA work in coordination in their quality control laboratory creating mixtures designs for special and regular concretes, products that are scrupulously verified with certified accreditations in accordance with official institutions by our duly trained technical personnel.

LACOSA and CONCRETOS MOCTEZUMA have a commercial team in charge of promoting product sales and services involving concrete and its placement on site which connect the company with the constructor by means of the best possible customer service, personalized attention and long-term relations in search of productivity and profitability for all and in awareness of client's needs.
