Cementos Moctezuma, with the support from its distributors, delivers assistance to the State of Tabasco

Past November 20th this year, Cementos Moctezuma and its distributors delivered to Asociación Gilberto A. C., in Villahermosa, Tabasco, over 20 tons of special assistance thanks to the support from its distributors. Donated goods consisted of diapers, cookies, tuna, canned beans and bottled water. These provisions departed from Mexico City in a trailer furnished by another of our distributors. Donations were delivered to the In-kind Donation Center of the afore-cited Asociación Gilberto, located at the Technological University of Tabasco (Universidad Tecnológica de Tabasco) (UTT, Spanish Acronym).

PROFEPA certifies the Cementos Moctezuma producing facilities
This achievement supports this firm’s philosophy and is a consequence of the significant state-of-the-art environmental investments. In order to protect the environment and due to the joint working efforts of all its personnel, Cementos Moctezuma received the Clean Industry Certificate [Certifcado de Industria Limpia] for its cement producing plants which is granted by the Mexican Federal Environment Protection Attorneyship [Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente (PROFEPA)].

Construction of a New Plant at the Municipality of Apazapan

At the Board of Directors meeting of the Company on the 2nd of August of 2007, the construction of a new cement plant was approved, at the municipality of Apazapan, located 47 kilometers from the capital Xalapa, state of Veracruz. The new plant will have an annual capacity of 1,300,000 tons. with an estimated investment of US 150 million dollars. At the same date, the Chief Executive Officer, Antonio Taracena Sosa, met the Governor of Veracruz, Fidel Herrera Beltrán, whom provided all conveniences to the construction of the plant through the assistance of the Economic Development Secretary, Carlos García Méndez. The company foresees the new investment to pursue the development of the Mexican market of construction, infrastructure and social interest housing along with them.
